Community Guidelines
Why Psycura Exists
Psycura exists to help people form real, lasting, compatible romantic relationships and meaningful friendships. We succeed when you leave — because you’ve found someone worth leaving for.
That only works if everyone on the platform is here in good faith. These guidelines exist to keep Psycura a place where genuine connection is possible. They’re not about controlling you. They’re about protecting the space so it can do what it’s designed to do.
How Psycura Is Different
Before we get into the rules, it helps to understand how Psycura works — because a lot of the problems that plague other dating apps simply don’t exist here.
You get one match at a time. Psycura pairs you with a single person based on deep compatibility analysis. You’re not browsing profiles, swiping through hundreds of faces, or juggling conversations. When you’re matched, you’re focused on that one person — and so are they.
You choose when you’re visible. Having a Psycura account doesn’t mean you’re in the matching pool. You opt in when you’re ready, and you opt out whenever you want. Leaving the pool is instant — you’re immediately invisible and unmatchable.
Photos and profiles stay hidden at first. You get to know each other through conversation before appearances enter the picture. This is by design — connection first, looks second.
These design choices mean that mass messaging, spam, stalking via search, and many other common dating app problems are structurally impossible or extremely difficult here. The guidelines below cover the risks that remain.
Be Real
Psycura only works if the people on it are who they say they are.
Use your real identity. Your name, age, photos, and basic information should be truthful.
One account per person. Creating multiple accounts undermines the matching system and other users’ trust.
Don’t impersonate anyone. This includes using someone else’s photos, pretending to be a public figure, or misrepresenting your identity in any way.
Be honest about your intentions. Psycura is for people seeking genuine connection — whether romantic or platonic (friendship). If meaningful relationships aren’t what you’re here for, this isn’t the right platform.
Respect Your Match
When Psycura matches you with someone, that person has opted in to the same process you have. They deserve the same respect you’d want.
Respect boundaries. If your match says they’re not comfortable with a topic, a question, or a pace — listen.
No pressure. Don’t pressure your match into sharing personal information, meeting in person before they’re ready, or doing anything they haven’t chosen freely.
Endings are okay. Not every match will work out. That’s normal and expected. On Psycura, either person can end a match at any time without providing a reason — that’s by design, not rudeness. If a match ends without explanation, respect it and move forward.
Don’t continue contact outside the platform without mutual consent. If your match hasn’t agreed to connect on other platforms or share contact information, don’t seek them out elsewhere.
What We Won’t Tolerate
Some behaviors may result in enforcement action, up to and including permanent removal from Psycura. The severity of our response depends on the nature and severity of the behavior.
Threats and Violence
Any threat of physical harm, sexual violence, or intimidation — whether explicit or implied — will result in immediate suspension. If you receive a credible threat, we will advise you to contact law enforcement, preserve evidence, and cooperate with any resulting investigation.
Harassment
Sustained, unwanted behavior intended to intimidate, demean, or distress another person. This includes repeated contact after being asked to stop, insults or personal attacks, and attempts to humiliate or shame your match.
Sexual Misconduct
Unsolicited sexually explicit content, sexual coercion, and any sexual behavior that is unwanted or non-consensual. Psycura is a space for connection, not sexual exploitation.
Exploitation and Abuse
Using Psycura to exploit others financially, emotionally, or otherwise. This includes scams, catfishing, and any attempt to manipulate vulnerable users.
Child Safety
Psycura is for adults 18 and over. Any user found to be a minor will be removed immediately. Any behavior that endangers minors will result in permanent removal. Where legally required (such as child sexual abuse material), we are obligated to report to the appropriate authorities.
Illegal Activity
Using Psycura to facilitate any illegal activity, including but not limited to drug trafficking, fraud, and solicitation of illegal services.
Incitement to Violence or Harm
Content or conduct that constitutes a credible incitement to physical violence against a person or group, or that advocates for the elimination of a person’s fundamental autonomy, will result in immediate action. This includes direct calls for violence, detailed threats against identifiable groups, and advocacy for genocide or ethnic cleansing.
Psycura does not police personal views, opinions, or language. People hold a wide range of beliefs, and a dating platform is not the place to adjudicate which beliefs are acceptable. What we do enforce is conduct that crosses into credible risk of physical harm or the elimination of someone’s autonomy. That’s where the line is.
Where applicable law prohibits specific forms of expression (such as hate speech provisions under Canadian criminal law), Psycura will enforce those legal requirements in the relevant jurisdictions. Our enforcement in these cases is based on legal obligation, not editorial judgment.
Preferences and Respect
People have preferences about who they’re romantically compatible with. That’s natural and personal, and Psycura respects it.
Having a preference is not the same as demeaning someone. You’re free to know what you’re looking for. You’re not free to insult, degrade, or harass someone for who they are. The line is simple: your preferences guide who you’re open to matching with. They’re never an excuse to be cruel to someone you’re matched with.
Psycura’s matching algorithm takes your preferences into account. If the match isn’t right, end it respectfully. That’s the whole system working as intended.
Protect Privacy — Yours and Theirs
Privacy is central to how Psycura works. We take it seriously, and we need you to as well.
Don’t share your match’s information outside the platform without their explicit consent. This includes photos, conversations, personal details, and anything they’ve shared with you in confidence.
Don’t screenshot or record conversations to share publicly, use as leverage, or post on social media.
Don’t attempt to discover your match’s identity through external means before they’ve chosen to share it with you.
When you share something with your match on Psycura, you’re trusting them with it. We expect everyone to honor that trust.
Content Standards
Everything you put on Psycura — your profile, your photos, your conversations — should be something you’d be comfortable standing behind. The platform works best when people are genuine, and content that undermines that makes the experience worse for everyone.
No spam, advertising, or commercial solicitation.
No content that promotes self-harm or eating disorders.
No deliberately misleading or manipulative content.
No content that infringes on someone else’s intellectual property or privacy rights.
What Happens When Someone Breaks These Guidelines
We believe most people are here in good faith, and our approach to enforcement reflects that. Not every mistake warrants the same response.
Our Approach
Warning. For first-time or minor violations, we’ll let you know what happened and what we expect going forward. Everyone deserves a chance to course-correct.
Temporary lockout. For repeated violations or more serious behavior, you may be temporarily removed from the matching pool. During this time, you’ll have access to self-reflection tools designed to help you understand the impact of your behavior. This isn’t punishment — it’s an opportunity.
Suspension. For serious violations, your account may be suspended for a defined period. You won’t be able to access the platform during this time.
Permanent ban. For the most serious violations — threats, exploitation, child safety concerns, or repeated serious misconduct — your account will be permanently removed.
Our enforcement decisions are guided by our internal Reportable Behaviors List, which maps specific behaviors to appropriate enforcement tiers.
Appeals
If you believe an enforcement action was made in error, you can appeal. We review appeals carefully and in good faith. Appeals are not guaranteed to change the outcome, but they are always considered.
Safety and AI
Psycura uses AI tools to help identify safety concerns in conversations. These tools look for patterns that may indicate risk — such as threats, coercion, or boundary violations — and may trigger protective features like alerts or prompts to seek support. No human reads your conversations unless a report is filed and an investigation is opened.
Reporting
If something doesn’t feel right, tell us. You can report concerns directly within the app, and every report is reviewed. We don’t disclose who filed a report.
We’d rather receive a report that turns out to be nothing than miss something that matters. Trust your instincts.
What Happens When You Report
When a report is filed, both the reporting user’s and the reported user’s accounts are temporarily locked while we investigate. This means neither account can access the matching pool, send messages, or take other actions on the platform until a resolution is reached. We know this affects the reporter too, and we take that seriously — it’s why we prioritize resolving reports quickly.
This policy exists to protect the integrity of the investigation and to prevent further harm in either direction while we determine what happened. It applies equally to both parties, regardless of who filed the report.
Deliberately filing false reports is itself a violation of these guidelines and may result in action against your account.
Accessibility
Psycura is committed to being usable by everyone. If you encounter barriers using the platform, let us know at support@psycura.ca so we can work to address them.
A Final Thought
Psycura isn’t trying to be everything to everyone. We’re building a space where people who are tired of shallow, gamified dating can find something real. That requires everyone involved to show up honestly, treat each other with basic human decency, and respect the process.
If that sounds like what you’re looking for, welcome. We’re glad you’re here.
